Very hardy shrub with attractive holly-like foliage and pinkish-red/purple new growth.

Tiny green flowers in Nov/Dec are followed by green to brown fruit.

Useful as understory plant; more compact growth in the open.

Enjoys mulch and fertiliser but tolerates neglect.

Provides protection for small birds, bats and insects.
