Low spreading shrub with spectacular yellow-red cylindrical flower spikes to 28cm tall flowers autumn to winter.

Aspect: Full Sun / Filtered Sun

Soil/Conditions: Adaptable

Natural Habitat: Wallum, Eucalypt Forest

Banksia spp. (Banksias)

The flower-cones were soaked in water in bark or wooden containers to extract the nectar to make sweet drinks. Early settlers called banksias ‘honeysuckles’.
